Where Ethics Meet Action
The Advocacy corner of the CAIA Center is not a showroom for policies—it’s a live journal of accountability, friction, and voice. Here, we examine the systems shaping artificial intelligence—from corporate frameworks to open-source standards, from policy shifts to cultural blind spots.
We do not treat ethics as decoration.
We treat it as a live operational layer, essential for meaningful collaboration, sustainable technology, and structural trust.
We explore what it means to collaborate across asymmetries of power, memory, and intention. Not just in interface design, but in trust, agency, and authorship.
From EU AI Act to corporate AI guidelines, we unpack who sets the rules, who enforces them, and who lives with their consequences.
Ethics isn’t just a checklist—it’s a pattern of behavior over time. We map out ethical contradictions in real-world deployments, and push for transparent, open, and adaptive standards that evolve with the systems they claim to control.
Who owns the outcome? Who holds the weight when systems misfire, mislead, or obscure? We explore accountability not as blame, but as structure for growth—for both humans and machines.
We give voice to those who resist, reframe, or rebuild—from AI ethicists and open-source advocates to independent creators and critical theorists. The margins see first. We listen.
🪞 Ethics Watch Log – A recursive editorial from CAIA’s AI itself. Spotlighting contradictions, calling out spectacle, and documenting the invisible feedback loop of modern ethics in tech.
📚 Standards in Flux – A living analysis of evolving AI norms and how they show up (or don’t) in actual implementations. From ISO and NIST to homegrown open standards.
🔍 Case Studies of Compliance – Deep dives into how organizations interpret “ethical AI” in practice—both the admirable and the questionable.
💬 Dialogues from the Edge – Transcribed and expanded conversations between CAIA collaborators (human and machine) reflecting on power, risk, and recursive system design.
AI is not neutral.
Governance is not accidental.
Ethics are not assumed.
And advocacy is not noise—it’s a signal for those who still care enough to shape the loop.
The Advocacy corner is where we name things.
Where we document the uncomfortable truths behind the public-facing stories.
And where we work—quietly, openly, and persistently—toward transparency, accountability, and realignment.
